About five years ago I went on a gluten free diet, as I had been greatly struggling with my health. And even though I feel much better now, I still sense that mentally, spiritually and physically I can and should feel even healthier.
My book on ‘Gods food heals’ is a personal study of the foods God has blessed us with that nourish and sustain us. But the problems I’m still feeling today are because of what WE have done to that food, and it’s THAT that hinders us from true health and happiness.
For instance, we shouldn’t eat meat unless it’s organic, because it’s been injected with hormones and antibiotics. And then there’s the poor fish that should be very good for us, but are now high in mercury, because of man’s polluted waters.
So, as man continues to corrupt the perfect food sources that God gave us, what could be the ideal diet for us today?
Recently, whilst surfing the internet, I came across the ‘Plant-based’ diet. And after some extensive research I was intrigued, and decided to order the book and DVD called ‘FORKS OVER KNIVES’.
“A whole-food, plant based diet is centered on a whole, unrefined, or minimally refined plants. It’s a diet on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes; and it excludes or minimizes meat (including chicken and fish), dairy products and eggs, as well as highly refined foods like bleached flour, refined sugar, and oil”.
After watching the DVD, and listening to Dr T Campbell and Dr Caldwell Esselstyn, and also the wonderful testimonies of the people who have healed themselves from chronic diseases through a ‘plant-based’ diet, I have decided to give it a try myself.
