FAQ

What do you offer?

I am a nutrition adviser for women and children, which means that I offer a ‘listening ear’, advice, and guidance on how to use nutrition to help heal your gut and body.

Do you only help women and children?

I am a woman with two daughters, and we have been through so much in our lives with regards to chronic illness and pain. For example, I had to bring up two children with Coeliac disease although they both had different symptoms. This is why I feel best suited to helping women and children only, but I can of course (and have done) help men if they are in need of some nutritional guidance.

Do you specialise in any specific chronic health issues?

The advice I offer can be applied to pretty much any health situation.

How long have you been interested in nutrition?

Since 1985, when I started experiencing a number of illnesses myself.

What qualifications do you have?

My vast experience and learning really comes from the ‘School of Hard Knocks’. What I help on, I have been through myself (or have at least been heavily involved with others who have had the health issues) and come out the other end feeling much better.

I was once in so much chronic pain and discomfort pretty much everyday of my life, suffering from:

  • Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Pelvic Adhesions
  • Systemic Candida
  • Coeliac Disease
  • Gluten Intolerance
  • Rosacea

Doctors couldn’t help me. Even medical ‘specialists’ in those areas were unable to provide me with any help other than prescribing antibiotics (which caused the problems in the first place!), painkillers, and offering me surgical procedures with risks of internal damage. Basically, their responses were pretty much all the same,

“Mrs Galvin, you will just have to live with it. Next patient please!”

Well, I wasn’t willing to accept that these problems couldn’t be cured. So I decided to do my own extensive study and research into good food and nutrition, as I had always believed that the food we eat (as well as the lifestyle we lead) can either cause chronic illnesses within our bodies, or cure them.

With regards to specific qualifications though, I have the following:

  • SNHS Dip. (Nutrition)
  • SNHS Dip. (Vegan and Vegetarianism) Grade A
  • Diabetes Awareness CPD Certified
  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating CPD Certified
  • Continuing studies in Nutrition

I am always developing myself and my skills through personal study, and by attending/taking accredited nutrition and health courses.

I am also the author of a book entitled “God’s food heals”, which covers my personal testimony and journey to better health after studying what God says in His word (the Holy Bible), about food, and then applying it to my life.

Today, I don’t take any medications and have ‘healed’ my body through nutrition.

Do I need to have any blood tests or anything?

No. I do NOT take any blood tests, but I will ask you about any medical conditions you have or have had, and if you are on any type of medication. If, from our sessions, I believe that you should get some sort of medical check, then I will indeed recommend this to you.
